43km LUMBERJILL RUN

Due to the current Fire Ratings and restrictions in place, we are instituting our safety ‘B’ course for the Lumberjack. Warburton Valley itself is predicted to be 29 degrees and safe for running, hence decision at this time to proceed under altered course for safety and earlier timings.

Welcome to the LUMBERJILL - fitting given Friday’s International Day of Women.

Essentially we have moved the run to the Warburton Valley where given the hot weather safety, access and conditions are much better than the original Lumberjack course - this applies to participants but also the safety of our volunteers.

The new course STARTS & FINISHES at the Warburton Recreation Ground Race HQ - so no need for buses.

BIB PICK UP from 5.30am at the race HQ (or today from 4.30pm - 7.30pm)

It will start EARLY - at 6.30am.

The course will be an amalgamation of the Donne Double course, and then linking up the Redwoods Rush Course. 43km ish, 2200m climbing ish. A very different race, no less beautiful, but a different run strategy needed given the 1000m climb in the early section followed by a bomb down (tip - go easy save the quads) and then a flattish course that needs…ummm..running.

AID STATIONS: 6km, 12km, 15km, 20km, 30k, 39km
ASCENT: 2200m (approx)
CUT OFFS:

  • 20km (Younga Road) 10am / 3.5hrs

  • 30km (Redwoods Aid (on way in)) 11.30am / 5 hours

  • 39km (Younga Road) 1.30pm / 7hrs

  • 43km (Finish) 2pm (7.5hrs)

CUT OFFS WILL BE HARD ENFORCED
